Tsingxi wide experience in desalination technology was applied also in the field of water desalination for civil use in hotels and touristic resorts. Fresh water supply is essential for such infrastructures and R.O. sea water or brackish water desalination is an offered alternative solution that can cover the required capacities of the rapidly expanding touristic areas and their increasing water demands.
Farming applications
The water is essential in order to guarantee the fitness of the animals (e.g. cattle, chickens, sheep, pigs) and to achieve the best productive animals performance. However, not only the quantity of the water can influence the animals desired growth but also the quality of the water.
The water used in the farm can have its origin from a number of different sources, such as water wells, civil water networks and to a less extent from rivers and other superficial sources.
Excluding the water from civil networks (containing free chlorine), the other sources usually have a high concentration of dissolved and suspended solids and pathogens. Consequently,the reverse osmosis technology has demonstrated to be the most efficient technology to reduce their negative effects, the contaminated water used in the farms, should undergo technological treatment in order to reduce substances that can be harmful for the animals.

The major problem today is represented in the shortage of potable water throughout the world and for many countries and especially for the islands, an effective solution to this issue is the desalination of brackish and seawater using the reverse osmosis technology. Other alternatives solutions are offered where there are available water resources like lakes, rivers, dams or underground water and only mechanical filtration and chemical conditioning of the water is enough to transform it to potable water.
The membrane separation technology is used in a broad spectrum for water potabilization purposes and especially the reverse osmosis is the most common technology employed for drinking water production because of its reliability, compactness, easy installation and maintenance and low operating costs. This technology has rapidly developed over the years and high salinity water is easily and competitively transformed into standard quality drinking water with quality parameters complying with the ones defined and declared by the World Health Organization (WHO).
